FOREST CONSERVATION IN PERU

The Brazil Nut Concessions project prevents deforestation and protects the biodiversity of 500,000 acres in the Peruvian Amazon in the province of Madre de Dios. The project aims to redirect the local economy towards harvesting Brazil nuts, a precious commodity which can only be found in the centuries-old rainforest protected by the project.

We support the non-profit CESVI and the Cape Town House of Smiles.

For 15 years, we have been been supporting CESVI, a non-profit, and Casa del Sorriso (House of Smiles) in Cape Town, South Africa.

This is a special place where women who have been the victims of domestic violence and their children can find refuge. Here, they will receive care, protection, medical and psychological assistance, and will rediscover their smiles thanks to specific support programmes.

Legami Forest Day

As part of a larger environmental project, we plan on planting only native trees and shrubs in Bergamo to improve air quality, increase biodiversity and mitigate temperatures in our area.

The Legami Forest Day is part of Rete Clima's Foresta Italia project, a national forestation project that has received the moral patronage of Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Ministry for Agriculture, Food, and Forestry Policies and which has 3 macro objectives:

Our next goals: national forestry projects and less packaging

Within the next 3 years, we will strive to:

Actively participate in national forestry projects.

Apply technical guidelines for opening new shops with a low carbon footprint.

Continue the work of reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.

Reduce packaging and explore how to replace current materials with more sustainable raw materials.
