For LEGAMI, sustainability means “doing better.”
Sustainability is at the root of our philosophy and our actions, because we firmly believe that no product is capable of inspiring positive feelings if it has been made by exploiting people or the planet.
We are a Benefit Corporation
We believe positive change is possible when each of us chooses to think and act responsibly.
That is why, since 2023, we have been a Benefit Corporation, a choice that reflects our commitment to integrating business objectives with goals that create shared value, as described in our Sustainability Report available on our website.
A Benefit Corporation is a legal status under Italian law that requires companies to balance their economic interests with those of the community, the environment and their stakeholders.
Choosing to become a Benefit Corporation represents another step forward on our journey, translated into concrete actions and projects that we report on annually. These include, for example, calculating our carbon footprint, Dreamland, employee welfare policies and packaging initiatives, all with the aim of operating responsibly and transparently.
How to become a Benefit Corporation?
The transformation from for-profit to Benefit Corporation involves integrating the company bylaws with:
The definition of the common benefit goals, i.e. which positive effects the company intends to pursue for a positive impact on the environment and community.
The appointment of an individual from the management team who is responsible for the company’s impact, balancing the interests of shareholders and other stakeholders (customers, employees, suppliers, communities and the environment).
The preparation and publication of an annual sustainability report, which provides a full and transparent account of the actions carried out and of future plans and commitments
Legami Dreamland
Dreamland, our park dedicated to protecting nature, has just turned three. What makes this a project like no other is the prohibition on anybody accessing the area, preserving and shielding it from human intrusion in order to allow it to become a new green lung in Bergamo.
Such is our confidence in the value of this project and the results it has already achieved that we have decided to ramp up our commitment, expanding the area from 3 to more than 30 hectares.
A journey that began in 2021: measuring and offsetting emissions
Since 2021, we have monitored our carbon footprint every year (Scopes 1, 2 and 3 | GHG Protocol | all locations).
Alongside our emissions-reduction pathway we purchase certified carbon credits (VCS-Verra and Gold Standard) to offset part of the emissions that we are not yet able to reduce directly.

Products with FSC®-certified paper
We use only traceable, FSC®-certified paper and wood during all production stages.

Recyclable receipt paper
Our receipts are blue and, unlike conventional receipts, they are recyclable as paper.
Retail shopping bags
Our Boutiques use only compostable shopping bags, or Green PE bags from cane sugar.
Energy from renewable sources only
Our office uses solar panels and purchases only green energy from renewable sources.
Our commitment to people's well-being
We support projects for people in vulnerable situations
For over 15 years, we have been supporting the CESVI non-profit and the “House of Smiles” programme, which offers safe spaces for children and their families in neglected outskirts in Italy and around the world.
We support women’s sport
We promote the value of sport as a Gold Sponsor of the Series A1 Volley Bergamo women’s volleyball team.
We work with suppliers who share our ethical and social principles
We have mapped our supplier base and carry out regular checks to work with partners who meet key international ethical and social standards.

A happy child is a child who can dream again
Wonder School is a project fully funded by Legami. Since 2024, more than 3,400 SCHOOL KITS have been donated to children, mainly in primary and lower secondary schools, who are living in vulnerable circumstances, with the aim of helping make the return to school a moment of joy.
In partnership with the Cesvi Foundation, the kits have been distributed in areas affected by educational poverty.
For the 2025/2026 school year, Legami has once again confirmed the Wonder School project, increasing the number to 1,200 kits and expanding the geographical areas covered by the initiative.
