HOW TO RECYCLE YOUR LEGAMI ELECTRICAL / ELECTRONIC PRODUCT

Thank you for choosing a Legami product.

If the symbol of the "crossed-out wheeled bin" appears on your item, it means that at the end of its life it cannot be treated as normal municipal solid waste, but must follow a procedure of separate collection, recovery, and recycling of the materials it is made of.
This is because we are dealing with what is defined as WEEE, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.

WEEE are waste from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), that is, waste from all devices that depend, for proper functioning, on electric currents or electromagnetic fields, as well as equipment for the generation, transfer, and measurement of these currents and fields.

The European legislation regulating the management of waste from electrical and electronic equipment is Directive 2012/19/EU, implemented in Italy with Legislative Decree 49/2014 on waste electrical and electronic equipment, which aims to establish procedures to protect the environment and human health from the release of hazardous substances.

It requires that all electrical and electronic devices at the end of their life must follow a separate collection procedure, prioritizing the recovery and recycling of the materials they consist of.

Violations of legal obligations, even by private citizens, are punished with heavy administrative and criminal sanctions.
When your product no longer works and needs to be recycled, take it to an authorized collection point managed by local authorities.

You can find authorized points in Italy by accessing the WEEE Coordination Center portal at the following link: www.cdcraee.it

The WEEE system, regulated by Legislative Decree 49/2014, is based on a regulated multi-consortium model involving various actors, each with specific responsibilities, collaborating in the perspective of a circular economy to promote sustainable development of the electronic waste sector in Italy.

Go to an authorized collection center and deliver your electronic waste free of charge. This will fulfill an obligation defined by law.
